A lifelong singer and performer, Elyse Coty is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and passion with the students of MMS! Elyse grew up singing choral music at Cabrillo College and began vocal studies at Monte Vista Christian School. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA. Elyse has learned from a number of locally and nationally acclaimed teachers in classical and contemporary singing styles. She has been seen performing on the stages of professional opera and musical theater companies, including Opera San Jose, Opera Modesto, and Cabrillo Stage. She also performed as a soloist and choir member in chamber and symphonic music organizations, including the Monterey Ensemble and Santa Cruz Symphony. She even has been a lead vocalist for a symphonic heavy metal student ensemble at her college! You can often catch her singing at a number of local churches on the weekends!
Elyse previously taught at the Cabrillo Youth Chorus and is currently with All About Theatre. In her studio, she is committed to creating a safe and joyful learning environment for students of all ages and experiences. Her goal with each student is to cultivate their musical talents and guide them along their music journeys wherever it takes them. Above all else, she hopes to help all her students ‘sing with joy!’ as she was always encouraged to by her grandmother.
