A type of school the owner is never there, very difficult to get hold of her(her job is music, why should I spend my... time during my work day to chase her?) When I raised the issue of several teachers giving up giving of working with this schooll damaging my daughter learning, the school then, takes a teacher who doesn't not even know to tune her own instrument as I saw her asking a guitar teacher to do so. Plus never gives parents the weekly report about how the student is doing, like all other teachers, and to be better, always finished her lessons 5 minutes before time, because she had to leave in rush!!! Same teacher who said to me, she took few lessons of that instrument and thinks about herself not being qualified to teach! In the end she is not a music teacher !!! Besides this teacher does not have any communication skills at all !!!! Then the teacher I had, gave up as well, but they don't even have a respect of telling me in the begginning of summer! For my surprise another teacher was there without any notice!!!! Is like take it or leave it!!!! And I was the only student at that day all other students either got moved to another day or gave up (used to be a full afternoon of classes) This school is misleading the neighbourhood with unqualified teachers! Even the receptionist quit her job months ago !!! I had enough! I'm pulling out my daughter's and myself! This school still owing us 4 make up lessons, (lessons teacher didn't go or we cancel more than 24hrs) I'm sure they will not refund us!!! Completely not honest !!! Close this business ! Right and honest thing to do !!!read more

Paul is a perceptive, patient, and encouraging teacher. Our son also participated in Sticks and Frets camp this summer and had a fantastic week! After a full year with B Sharp Music School I am completely satisfied and enthusiastic about starting my second year... with Carol Ann Loeb. I can recommend the school and Carol Ann without reservation. I have learned much more over the year than I expected – and I have enjoyed learning much more than I anticipated. As a 62 year old beginning cello student I have different interests and abilities than the typical beginning student. Carol Ann has personalized her lessons to accommodate my needs and interests. She has maintained a balance of challenging exercises and serious pieces with easier etudes and duets so I have a near constant sense of satisfaction and improvement (practice is hard and I struggle to learn new passages). She has guided me with suggestions for practicing, reading and listening that have made my involvement with this wonderful instrument far more personal and profound than I imagined it would be a year ago. The experience and personal stories she shares from her lifetime with her cello, including her current performances, give me a sense of trust and respect that is completely unexpected. She gently pushed me to perform with other B Sharp students in recital – an experience that was a real stretch for me. With Carol Ann, I feel like a cello player (not a beginner) on a very long but fulfilling musical path and I am excited to take the next steps to see what is at the top of the next climb. The school is a charming old house in a good location. Every week I see more whimsical music-themed decorations. This is a fun place staffed with people who love what they do. Their ability to attract and retain instructors of Carol Ann’s caliber is proof that they mean business.read more

Bsharp is like a second home for our family. We are there several days a week for our lessons. After one of my... children started cello lessons, I decided to take lessons as well. It has been a wonderful experience for all of us. Learning music at Bsharp has positively touched each one of us in different ways. My younger child is currently learning the fundamentals of music in a fun, engaging and age appropriate group class with Teacher Heidi. She is warm, friendly, and encouraging. My older child is learning the values of discipline, perseverance and patience with himself, during private cello lessons. He does not learn in the traditional way so his teacher, Carol Ann, teaches him according to his needs. She is so supportive, thoughtful and positive, especially if he hits a "bump". Other than taking piano lessons as a child, I do not consider myself musically inclined. But, cello lessons have been a form of therapy for me. It allows me to turn off my "mom brain" and focus my mind on something that is constructive, yet enjoyable. I actually get a little giddy when it's my turn for a lesson! So parents, don't miss out on the fun. Bsharp is for YOU too! As an adult student, I'm impressed by Carol Ann's knowledge and experience. She pays attention to details and proper technique, even though I'm a beginner. This music school is such a blessing for our community. Both of my kids are taking lessons at B Sharp, and they adore their teachers! My daughter is taking flute from Sarah,... and has progressed far more quickly than I thought possible. I don't know how Sarah does it, but she has inspired my girl to practice far more than we require. In fact, I almost never have to tell her that it's time to practice! My son takes piano from Heidi (the owner), and she's so patient with him! He's a wiggly 6-year-old, but she never gets ruffled. She's very positive and encouraging:). Also, Heidi is incredibly accommodating when one of the kids get sick. She's always willing and able to be flexible when necessary. Heidi runs a very customer-oriented business--managing to do all the administration, teach a whole lot of lessons, and be a warm, friendly person!!read more

Our whole family has been with B S#arp School of Music since its opening, and we have been SO pleased. Our boys LOVE... Heidi- in less than a month she had taught them all sorts of music theory, melody and rhythm using fun and clever strategies, all while keeping them appropriately focused and engaged. Our 6 year old has been taking violin lessons with Vasi Klinker from B S#arp- She is extremely professional and experienced with children, and I am stunned by the results from the combination of her high expectations and her patience with our son.
